Horse Feast - An evening of extraordinary treats

Each October, Hotel Varmahlíð hosts a memorable horse feast, in cooperation with the Centre for History of the Icelandic Horse and a well-known Icelandic cook, Friðrik V. Karlsson. Numerous splendid courses spotlight the Icelandic horse for dining. A few dishes which our guests have previously relished include foal sushi, grilled horse loin, and ice cream made of mare's milk.

A variety of cultural entertainment, in traditional Icelandic spirit, adds to the culinary experiences, and the banquet concludes with the guests joining in song. The horse feast has been so popular that there has generally been a shortage of tickets. Our next horse feast will be held on 16 October 2010.
